School interceptions are of utmost importance to divert plastic from landfills, incinerators and oceans. Until we can scale up to avoid plastic completely, we must continue to intercept. Through schools we hope to engage households and the local community to intercept the plastics before they are incinerated or sent to landfills.

 
 

HOW

  • Set up an collection point through the school interception program

  • Teach students and staff how to sort and place their used plastics in the proper bins

  • If no other interception points are in place, encourage the students and staff to intercept from their households and bring to the school

 

MEASURE

  • Parley Maldives will sort, weigh and log from our baling facility
