BAN CELLOPHANE USE ON BOOKS
Every year a massive amount of cellophane is used as a cover for school books. Imagine this: If 75,000 students used 15 books covered with an average 1 sq. ft. of cellophane each, we would throw away 1,125,000 sq. ft. of single-use cellophane plastic a year. This is enough to cover K. Villingili four times over! Banning cellophane will save our landfills from burning 1,125,000 sq. ft. of plastic every year.
HOW
Encourage students and staff to forego covers on both text books as well as notebooks. If a cover is needed, encourage the use of cloth covers or paper covers.
MEASURE
Goal is to get 100% of students, school offices and staff to NOT cover their books with cellophane
